This is a phase that performs feasibility review for migration, detailed structural analysis for Migration, and defines migration strategy and sequence. Depending on the scale and complexity of the customer environment, specialized personnel in each field are deployed to comprehensively analyze servers, databases, applications, and interfaces to establish a migration roadmap and calculate TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). In this process, risk points and target structures are defined together to lay the foundation for subsequent Migration to proceed stably.
Proceeding without Assessment increases risks such as scope omission, dependency errors, and increased downtime. Assessment is an essential step to identify service priorities and migration difficulty levels, and to reduce uncertainty in costs and schedules. For stable migration, it is most effective to have a continuous flow from analysis to Migration.
A migration strategy document, priority list, service map, migration feasibility analysis, and cost outlook are provided, and these materials serve as the basis for the Migration plan. System-by-system conversion difficulty and risk, service dependencies, and Modernization required areas are organized together so you can see a clear roadmap of which systems to convert, when, and how. Operational elements such as interface structure, Batch schedule, and data flow are also included and are utilized to reduce uncertainty in subsequent phases.
Hyper Mig is used to accurately understand the current environment before migration. It standardizes structures that are difficult to understand manually, such as how servers, DBs, and applications are connected, identifies hidden relationships and dependencies, and is used to increase the accuracy of conversion planning.
Hyper Mig is an analysis tool that structures environmental data, and Assessment is a consulting phase that defines strategy and priorities. Based on the structured data collected by Hyper Mig, Assessment can be conducted more accurately and quickly, making it most effective to perform both stages together. Since the two stages are complementary to each other, we recommend receiving professional consulting together.
Hyper Mig visually displays complex interconnection relationships based on collected structured data, significantly reducing uncertainty in the migration process. You can view service architecture diagrams, dependency maps, connection information, and resource analysis results on a single screen, improving decision-making speed and accuracy. This allows you to secure the structural judgment basis needed during the migration process.
The strategy and priorities derived from Assessment are reference information that most accurately reflects the current environment. As time passes due to system structure or business changes, accuracy may decrease, so it is most stable to proceed with Migration while the analysis results are valid. For stable migration, we recommend proceeding continuously from Assessment to Migration.
We apply different strategies such as Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor depending on service importance, technical architecture, and operational requirements. For high-priority services, we choose a phased transition approach to minimize downtime, and systems using legacy structures or EOL technologies may require platform adjustments or modernization. Conversely, systems that are difficult to modify are well-suited for the Rehost approach, which enables rapid migration without code changes. After Migration, we conduct data validation and performance testing to proceed with stable Cutover, and support operational handover to the operations team to ensure operational continuity. Additionally, permissions, monitoring, and deployment methods are organized according to the cloud operations model, and training is provided to the operations team when necessary to support the organization in stably adapting to the cloud operations system.
Using MegazoneCloud's validated methodology and AWS MGN-based automation technology, it is designed to enable conversion of large-scale VM environments with minimal downtime. Experts conduct preliminary analysis of complex structures including networks, storage, and application integration, and perform stable migration.
VMware Migration applies the Rehost (Lift & Shift) method by default, allowing you to migrate quickly and cost-effectively without modifying applications. If needed, you can also perform additional structural improvements or cost optimization after migration through Modernization.
Leveraging AWS MGN-based automation technology and extensive large-scale migration experience, we reliably transition even hundreds of servers. For 50-200 servers, we use the Standard model, and for 200+ servers, we use the Plus model to address special requirements. With verified procedures, we minimize downtime and ensure safe migration. Modernization is necessary in environments where operational risks increase if existing systems are migrated as-is due to legacy structures, EOL technologies, single points of failure, or lack of scalability. While Migration aims to transfer existing structures as-is, Modernization includes structural improvements and functional reconfiguration to increase cloud suitability. Whether to apply Modernization is determined based on service criticality, technical debt level, and operational risk.

By organizing outdated technologies and structures, it reduces the risk of failures, and by reconfiguring servers, databases, and networks to align with cloud operation standards, it lowers long-term maintenance costs. Additionally, the results of Modernization serve as a foundation for expanding AI and data-driven services, providing advantages for future business advancement.
Depending on business criticality and system structure, migration can be performed in a non-stop or minimal downtime manner. By combining real-time replication, phased synchronization, and pre-rehearsal testing, Cutover time can be reduced to a level of minutes to several hours. Even large-scale databases can minimize downtime through pre-validation, enabling stable transition without operational impact.
Through multiple validation procedures including schema comparison, sample validation, full validation, and log analysis, we prevent data loss and consistency errors in advance. We repeatedly validate structural differences, omissions, and inconsistencies that may occur during migration and perform final validation just before Cutover to ensure safety. We continue validation procedures after the transition to maintain stability.
The level of change varies depending on the scope of Modernization. Version upgrades or Managed DB transitions are mostly carried out with minimal modifications and do not significantly change the existing structure. However, if engine changes, architecture redesign, or feature expansion are included, some query or schema adjustments may be necessary. Through initial diagnosis, you can clearly identify the scope of modifications needed and risks.
